Abstract - Zbigniew Czajkowski – an ambassador of Polish fencing
Professor Z. Czajkowski is a trainer and teacher, highły valued by the students and competitors.
His methodical-training output was created owing to his extensive knowledge and bright intellect.
Zbigniew Czajkowski was born in 1921 year in Modlin. He graduated from the Lvov Cadet Corps l in the year of 1939. There he began to go in for fencing. He also took an active part in the World War II. He started the medical studies in Edinburgh and graduated from it in Cracow. In the years 1953–1980 he worked as a coach of the "GKS – Piast" Gliwice. At the same time he was a coach of the national team and a head of the Polish Fencing Training Association.
He trained, among others, Egon Franke – the first Polish Olympic Champion in Foil and Elżbieta Cymermann – the multi-medalist of Polish Championship.
In the year of 1980 he started his work at the AWF Fencing Club in Katowice as a coach of a fencing section. There he get trained Magdalena Jeziorowska – The Europe Champion in Epee.
Professor Z Czajkowski is an author of 20 books and some hundreds national and foreign publications. He became a contract professor at AWF in Katowice in 1985.
He was awarded by numerous Polish and British Military Honour.
