Abstract - Complete budo systems
Established in Europe teaching systems of Far Eastern martial arts follow similar systems originating from the Japanese tradition of martial arts. They have their distinctive features such as 1) teaching a wide range of unarmed combat skills and techniques of wielding classical weapon, and 2) immanent educational functions based on the accepted axio-normative systems as well as connecting teaching with socio-moral, health or holistic education.
Teaching a greater variety of techniques and tactics allows 1) better physical and health development due to the greater variety of motion; 2) contact with a larger piece of cultural heritage of the Far Eastern countries; 3) longer educational process caused by the rich program of teaching and its consequence being - 4) multidimensional development of the personality of For these reasons complete systems are worth to popularize in the situation when teaching only self-defence impoverishes or even kills ‘the way of martial arts’ depriving it of a large part of vales shaping the personality in a positive manner.
