Abstract - History of participation and results Polish judo players at world championships

Great sport events such as world championships have civilization and cultural dimension and are timeless. In these days highly qualified sport is developing very quickly. Particularly in sports of fight we noticed a huge increase of popularity and attraction to this discipline on every conti­nent. The history of judo competition on the world arena has taken over 50 years.
Because of the participation of many different countries judo competitions has important political and social meaning. The national team of Poland in the history of world championships at 22 men and women tournaments has won 29 medals (it includes 6 gold, 3 silver, 20 bronze ones). The achieve­ments of Polish competitors in juniors category are considerably modest. They have won 14 medals (includes 1 gold, 4 silver, 9 bronze). In comparison to seniors it is only a half. According to this information we can identify achievements on each level. Those results provoke us to pose a question: How much youth rivalry relates to seniors' category?
The history of Polish judo team at world championships is already 45 years old. During the half century Polish judokas have competed on many international arenas and rivalry in first olympian sport of fight, which roots takes in the Far East. Summing up the achievements of Polish jodokas in the world championships after 45 years of participating are really impressive. They have enrolled to the history of this discipline with gold letters.
