Abstract - About the way of martial arts & way of life

This piece of work presents the figure and views of one of the most eminent masters of Japanese jujutsu, Dr. H. Czerwenka-Wenkstetten (1932–2006) partially on the basis of an interview conducted by the chief editor of “Ido – Movement for Culture” a few years ago. The main method is, however, over 50-year participant observation of master Czerwenka-Wenkstetten (10 dan) and his opinions may be treated as expert opinions (one of cognitively valuable methods of qualitative empiria).
Czerwenka-Wenkstetten, MD, presents his opinions concerning jūjutsu itself as a marital art and generally on the sense of bud0 and philosophy of martial arts. He speaks on satisfaction from the work of a martial arts teacher at the University in Vienna and within European Jujitsu Union where he was “Chief Technical Director” (responsible for the technical level of teaching) as “shihan” and “Pastmaster” as well as a doctor and psychiatrist. He indicates jujutsu values in their connection with his own philosophy of life.
