Abstract - The area of fighting arts studies A.D. 2025 organisational and scientific development
Problem. Science in the field of fighting arts is constantly evolving. How is this process progressing from the perspective of the GTFA (General Theory of Fighting Arts) and institutions co-creating or collaborating in this field? The Chronicle covers the period from October 2024 to October 2025.
Method: The analysis focuses on the activities of specialized scientific societies and universities, conferences, workshops, and other meetings, as well as new, more important scientific publications. This is a factual and review-based study (opinions on events and publications). Various sources were considered (documents, interviews, books, popularizing articles, old prints, materials for internal use, and online texts).
Results. The current activities of several specialist scientific institutions (including IPA, IMACSSS, and the University of Rzeszow) over the past year were discussed. Martial arts teaching at the Idokan organization and the anniversary of Prof. Wojciech J. Cynarski were described. A review of new publications in the interdisciplinary field of fighting arts was conducted.
Conclusions. The regularity of annual events, such as conventions and congresses, seminars and summer camps, conferences, and other cyclical events, as well as the publication of specialized scientific journals, testify to the advanced institutionalization process. In the case of the IPA, this is represented by its over 32-year-long regular activity. New publications, in turn, demonstrate the continued lively interest of the academic community in the field of fighting arts.
